What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing describes the provision of computing services such as servers, storage, databases, software, networks or intelligence via the Cloud. Thus, the term Cloud computing refers to the technology that makes the Cloud work.

With the use of Cloud computing, resources for purchase and maintenance of Data Centers can be saved as well as the general speed of the services offered can be increased. Offering and using these Cloud computing services is usually done through an Application Programming Interface (API). The Cloud offers the immense advantage of elasticity: you can scale your structures more easily and cost-effectively than ever before. Cloud computing services can be divided into the following three types: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS).
