What are schemes in Jira?

A Jira schema is a collection of values that can be used by one or more Jira projects. Schemes in Jira are a major part of its configuration. As soon as the next project is created for which your configurations would be best suited, you can apply the created scheme for the new project with just a few clicks. Jira schemes save time and provide standardized procedures.

There are different types of schemes in Jira. For instance, a notification scheme explains who receives emails when issues are changed. Other schemes in Jira are issue type scheme, permission scheme, and issue security scheme.
