What is a space in Confluence?

Using Confluence spaces, content can be organized into corresponding categories. Related Confluence pages are collected in the same spaces to structure teamwork. There are two types of spaces in Confluence.

  1. Global spaces: This is for example a team area. Here, content (pages) are shared to be made available to the whole team and to be shared for editing.

  2. Personal spaces: In addition, each Confluence user has a personal Confluence space. This can either be kept completely private or shared with individuals or entire teams. Personal Confluence spaces are particularly suitable for individual notes.
