What is a team managed project in Jira?

In Jira you can create:

A team-managed project is a project created by anyone on the team, and the project administrator configures it. These are projects with a simplified configuration and more admin control over the setup, without requiring configuration by a Jira administrator! Team-managed projects have open, limited, and private access levels.

Do you have a team that wants an easier project configuration in order to get started faster? Or maybe you need an independent space to manage the team’s work?

If yes, choose a team-managed project!

To check what project you are in, enter your project and look at the bottom of the left menu in your project shows you if you are on a team managed project or a company-managed project.
