How to link Jira issues

Linking Jira issues with each other gives you an ideal overview of the relationships between existing issues. For example, you can see if issues:

• are blocking,
• are duplicating, or
• are preceding each other.

To link Jira issues, you need the “Link issues” permission.

This is how it works:

1. Open the issue you want to link to
2. Click the button in the upper left corner to copy the issue’s link

3. Open the issue you wish to link the other issue to

4. Click the Link Issue button

5. Select the type of relation (blocked by, relates to …)

6. Paste the link

7. Click Link

8. Done!
