What are story points?

Story Points are a relative measure of the size (i.e., complexity) of a user story. It basically tells you and the rest of the agile team whether a user story is of low, medium, or high complexity compared to other user stories. In agile project management and development, it is essential to estimate the difficulty of implementing a particular user story.

You can use different scales for story points (e.g., very simple scales like 1 (low complexity user stories), 3 (medium complexity user stories) and 5 (high complexity user stories); t-shirt size S, M, L, XL, XXL, or even a scale of your own imagination.
