What is Data Protection?
Data Protection is the protection of personal data against unauthorized access, misuse, processing or publication. Personal data is data that relates to a natural, identifiable person (for example, name, address, telephone number).
Data Protection always becomes an issue when responsible parties process personal data. If data protection is not observed and national or supra-regional laws are disregarded, fines in the millions are threatened.
Data Protection measures include technical encryption and security protocols such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Physical security measures such as locked cabinets and server rooms or organizational things like training on security topics are also among proven measures to ensure data protection.
