We Did It: Full Forge Migration Complete for Actonic Data Protection Apps

We’ve been working toward this for a while, and today we can finally say it: Data Protection and Security Toolkit for Jira and Data Protection and Security Toolkit for Confluence are now fully built on Atlassian Forge.

Not partially. Not “Connect on Forge.” Fully Forge.

Actonic DPT Full Forge Proof

Don’t just take our word for it — look us up on forge-apps.com, the independent Forge app directory by Seibert Group. Both apps are listed there as full Forge apps. If you browse that directory, you’ll notice that many popular Marketplace apps are still only partially migrated — showing labels like “Connect on Forge (27%)” or “Connect on Forge (55%).” We went all the way.

Why This Is a Big Deal

Forge is the most modern and most secure app framework Atlassian has ever built. It’s where all new Atlassian app development is heading, and it’s what Atlassian recommends for every vendor going forward.

For a data protection tool that helps teams handle GDPR compliance, PII discovery, user anonymization, and data breach prevention, being on the most secure framework isn’t optional. It’s where we should be. And now we are.

If you’re already using either app — everything works exactly as before. Same configurations. Same rules. Same workflows. Zero downtime during the migration.

The only thing that changed is what’s under the hood. And it got a lot better.

The Bigger Picture

As we mentioned in our statement on Data Center End of Life, the Atlassian ecosystem is moving to cloud — fast. The legacy Connect framework is being phased out. Apps that are still on Connect will eventually need to migrate or face disruption.

We didn’t wait for the deadline. Our data protection apps are ready now, and we’re actively migrating the rest of our product portfolio to Forge as well.

Try It Yourself

Both apps are available with free trials on the Atlassian Marketplace:
